Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 1, 2026

Welcome to Iowa Family Assistants. By accessing our website (https://iowafamilyassistants.com/) or utilizing our services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website, communicating with our office, or submitting information for a care plan, you accept and agree to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our website.

Note on Care Services: The actual provision of in-home care, Consumer Directed Attendant Care (CDAC), or Supported Community Living (SCL) services will be governed by a separate, legally binding Care Plan, Client Agreement, and/or Medicaid/MCO authorization documents signed prior to the start of care.

2. Description of Services

Iowa Family Assistants provides non-medical, in-home care services designed to promote independent living. This includes assistance with daily living activities, personal care, respite care, and the provision of Emergency Response Systems (ERS). We serve private pay clients, clients with long-term care insurance, and are a Certified Medicaid Agency working with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) in Iowa.

3. Non-Medical Disclaimer

Iowa Family Assistants provides strictly non-medical care. The information provided on this website and the services rendered by our caregivers do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our caregivers are trained to assist with daily living and medication management according to state guidelines, but they are not licensed medical professionals (such as doctors or registered nurses). Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider for medical advice or in the event of a medical emergency.

4. Accuracy of Information

We strive to ensure the information on our website is accurate and up-to-date. However, service availability, state regulations, and Medicaid waiver program details may change. We make no warranties regarding the absolute accuracy or completeness of the informational content provided on this site.

5. Client and User Responsibilities

If you request a Personalized Care Plan or apply for services on behalf of yourself or a loved one, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information regarding health status, home environment, and care needs. Accurate information is essential for us to provide safe and effective care and to maintain compliance with state regulations.

6. Payments, Insurance, and Medicaid

For clients utilizing Medicaid waiver programs or long-term care insurance, services are contingent upon approval and continued authorization by the respective MCO or insurance provider. Private pay clients are subject to the billing terms and rates outlined in their individual Client Service Agreement.

7. Family Provided Care and Employment

We offer programs where eligible family members and friends can be hired and compensated for the care they provide. Participation in this program requires the caregiver to meet all state-mandated training requirements, pass background checks, and formally become an employee of Iowa Family Assistants. All employment relationships are governed by separate employment agreements and Iowa labor laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Iowa Family Assistants, its directors, employees, and caregivers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our website or the reliance on any information provided herein. Liability regarding direct care services is governed exclusively by the specific Client Service Agreement signed prior to the commencement of care.

9. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party resources, state agencies, or informational sites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of use of any third-party websites.
